Neurology class in Petén

The Community Health Worker students spent this week studying NEUROLOGY. They learned how to tell the difference between seizures and other types of loss of consciousness. They learned about vertigo and the Epley maneuver. They learned about stroke, peripheral neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome and much more. Now in their third year of study, these student CHWs are taking their place in the communities as the go-to people for health care concerns, so they need to have a broad base of medical information to draw on.

Meanwhile, the construction continues. We are looking forward to having the clinic and the teaching building on the same site soon!
