CHWs Made a Difference in 2019!

How many families in Petén got care from CHWs last year? The counts are in! In 2019, the Petén Health Community Health Workers took care of 4638 patients during 203 clinic days in the existing central clinic. These patients came from over 60 different rural communities in the department of Petén, the largest and most remote area of Guatemala.

An additional 1043 patients were helped in the homes and communities of the CHWs. (These numbers are almost certainly an under representation of the work done by CHWs, because - let's be honest - not every patient got written down.)
